Her garden is one of the busiest in Harvest Grove, and it's not unusual to find her with dirt on her boots, a harvest basket in one hand, and her magic wand in the other. Whether she's watering young plants or gathering the day's harvest, Lulu always seems to know exactly what her garden needs.

The Science Behind Lulu

Lulu is inspired by lutein, a natural plant pigment found in spinach and other leafy green vegetables. In the story, Lulu shares her special gift with the spinach plants. In the real world, scientists discovered that spinach naturally contains lutein, which plays an important role in supporting healthy eyes.
Lulu's cousin, Zea, is inspired by zeaxanthin, another natural plant pigment that works alongside lutein. Together, they help protect the eyes and support clear, comfortable vision.
